On Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, between 10:30 and 11:30 p.m., a woman was walking her dog near 22 Avenue and 4 Street N.E., when a man grabbed her from behind in a “bear-hug” motion.
The woman screamed, struggled and broke loose, fled the area, and phoned police.
The suspect is described as tall with a large build and was wearing a fabric coat, possibly wool. He smelled of alcohol.
Investigators do not know the motive behind this incident.

Sometime on Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, between 9 and 10:30 p.m., someone smashed the front window of Ever After Bridal & Formal Wear located at 103-233 16 Ave. N.W., and removed a mannequin wearing a wedding dress from the front display area. The mannequin was later recovered in a driveway behind the business. The wedding dress has not been recovered.
