On Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, at approximately 3:50 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired in a restaurant located in a strip mall at Macleod Trail and 94 Ave. S.E.

Sanjeev Mann and Aaron Bendle were found deceased inside the restaurant. Keni Su’a was an innocent bystander who was found deceased outside the restaurant. All three died as a result of the shooting.

Police believe that shortly before the shooting, Mann, along with a male and female associate, were sitting at the same table in the restaurant. They were then joined by Bendle.

The approximately 108 gold coins were stored in a white canvas bag.
