On Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at approximately 1 a.m., a man robbed an Ogden 7-Eleven at 7233 Ogden Rd. S.E. Once inside the store, the offender armed with a weapon demanded money from the till. Once provided with an undisclosed amount of cash, the offender fled the store.
 
He is described as Caucasian, approximately 31 to 39 years-old, 5’6” tall. He had short, brown hair and was wearing a black leather jacket.
 
At approximately 7:50 a.m., The Biz Food Mart at 1920 62 Ave. S.E. was also robbed. In this case, the man demanded money but fled empty handed. He was seen leaving the scene in an awaiting vehicle, green in colour.
 
 
The suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 30 to 35 years-old, 5’7” tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a black jacket with fur on the hood, and a white reflective stripe on the collar. He was also wearing a black baseball cap with a white emblem on the front.
 
Police believe that the same suspect is responsible for both robberies.

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in locating two men responsible for two separate robberies in the south.
 
Both robberies took place in the early hours of Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, in the green space near the Anderson LRT tracks. In each case, the suspects made demands for personal belongings from the male victims before punching and kicking them.
 
Items taken include cash, a watch and jewelry.
 
The victims received minor injuries as a result of the assault.
 
Both suspects are described as Aboriginal, approximately 16 to 18 years-old. One suspect was wearing a Blue Jays ball cap and blue jeans. The other suspect was dressed in dark clothing with a black hoodie and had spaces between his teeth.

On Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at approximately 2:45 p.m., a man robbed the Royal Bank located in the Signal Hill Centre SW. Once inside the bank, he approached the teller and stated it was a robbery and demanded cash. During the incident, the offender discharged a firearm and fled the premise prior to receiving any money. No one was injured during the incident.
 
The suspect is described as Caucasian, believed to be in his mid-30s, approximately 140 to 160 lbs., with a slim build. He had a pale skin complexion, a dirty appearance and had medium-length, brown hair, a day’s growth of facial hair and an overgrown goatee. He was wearing sunglasses and black leather gloves.

Sometime on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, between 11:15 a.m. and 1: 40 p.m., a man broke into a home in the 4000 block of Varsity Road N.W. Once inside, he rummaged through the entire house. The homeowner arrived at the residence to find him inside. He shoved the victim out of the way before fleeing the home and getting into an awaiting black SUV style vehicle.
 
The suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 30 to 40 years-old, 5’8” to 5’9” tall, with a slim build. He had short, brown hair and a moustache and was wearing a ball cap.

On Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at approximately 11:30 p.m., unknown offender(s) entered the Scotiabank at 3508 32 Ave. N.E. They proceeded to the lobby area where the ATMs are located and started a fire in the garbage bins.

Sometime between 5 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, and 9:30 a.m., on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, unknown offender(s) gained entry into a home under construction in the 1900 block of 25 Avenue S.W. Once inside, the offender(s) used an unknown tool to make approximately 20 to 40 gouges in the walls and doors of nearly every room inside the home. Damages to the home are estimated at approximately $5,000.

On Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at approximately 11:45 p.m., the victim was operating a charter bus in the 700 block of 10 Avenue S.W., when a passenger on the bus began smoking. When she advised the suspect that he had to stop or exit the bus, he proceeded to the front of the bus and physically assaulted her. The victim then removed the suspect from the bus.
 
The suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 20 to 25 years-old, 5’7” tall, with a medium build. He had curly, blond hair and a beard. He was wearing a brown jacket with horizontal stripes, jeans, and sneakers.

The Calgary Police Service is investigating three robberies all believed to have been committed by the same offender.
 
The first occurred on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at approximately 7:30 p.m., near the intersection of Berkshire Place and Berkshire Road N.W. A man was walking on a foot path in the area when a man armed with a gun approached him. The offender searched the victim for personal belongings, and fled empty handed.
 
The suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 30 years old, 5’11” tall, with a slim build. He was wearing dark-coloured jeans, a black jacket and had his faced concealed during the robbery.
 
The second incident occurred approximately one hour later in the 400 block of 64 Avenue N.W. In this case, the victim was standing at a bus stop when the offender approached and brandished a gun. The offender took the victims iPod and fled the scene in a dark-coloured van.
 
The suspect is described as approximately 20 to 30 years old, 5’11” tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a dark-coloured toque, a dark, waist-length jacket and dark-coloured jeans.
 
The third robbery occurred on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at approximately 7:25 p.m. A woman was walking in the 900 block of Bermuda Drive N.W. when a man approached her from behind and pushed her to the ground. The offender stole the woman’s purse and indicated that he was armed during the robbery.
 
The suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 30 to 40 years old, 5’10” tall, with a slim build. He was wearing a black winter coat, a black toque and jeans.

On Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a man entered the Petro Canada gas station located at 1920 4 St. S.W. and proceeded directly to the back of the store where he removed an undisclosed amount of cash from a cabinet.
 
The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern man, approximately 35 to 40 years old, 6’ tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a black shirt, a black jacket and blue jeans.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 25 to 35 years old, 5’5” tall, with a slim build. He had a day’s growth of facial hair and black and white hair. He was wearing a dark grey jacket, a grey hoodie, blue jeans and white shoes.

On Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at approximately 12:20 a.m., a man was approached by two males while standing at a bus stop near Centre Street and 78 Avenue N.E. One of the men approached the victim and punched him, causing him to fall to the ground. While on the ground, both offenders continued to physically assault him. They then stole some of the victim’s personal belongings and fled the scene in a silver, 1990-model, four-door car.
 
The first suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 20 to 30 years old, 5’8” tall, with a slim build. He was clean shaven, had a bald head and was wearing a white striped hoodie and blue jeans.
 
The second suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 20 to 30 years old, 6’1” tall, with a slim build. He was clean shaven and had brown hair combed forward. He was also wearing a black windbreaker jacket.

On Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, between 7:20 and 7:50 p.m., unknown suspect(s) entered a hotel in the 300 block of 4 Avenue S.W. Once inside, the suspect(s) attempted to enter several hotels rooms by prying the doors. No entry was gained, and the suspect(s) fled the area.

Sometime between 4:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, and 7:15 a.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, suspect(s) broke into a school bus that was parked in the 0-100 block of Deerpoint Road S.E. Once inside the bus, a fire extinguisher was discharged on the bus seats. The front windshield was also smashed.

Sometime overnight between Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, and Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, vandals struck in the southeast communities of Midnapore and Sundance.
 
Vehicles parked in alleys, fences and garage doors were spray-painted with profanities and racial slurs.

On Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at approximately 10 p.m., two men robbed Peters Drive-In located at 217 16 Ave. N.E. The men walked up to the drive-in window and climbed inside the kitchen area. Once inside, they threatened employees and discharged pepper spray. A female employee was pushed to the ground and directly sprayed with pepper spray.
 
The offenders removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the till and fled the area.
 
The first suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 5’11” tall, with a slim build. He was wearing a white hoodie, jeans, white shoes, and a white bandana covering his face.
 
The second suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 20 to 25 years old, 5’10” to 5’11” tall, with a slim build. He was wearing a black hoodie, black track pants, white shoes and a dark-coloured baseball hat.

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to locate the driver of a vehicle involved in a collision with a pedestrian in the southeast.
 
At approximately 8 a.m., on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, a 13-year-old female was walking along Acadia Drive S.E. crossing 94 Avenue S.E. in a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a small white sedan.
 
The driver of the vehicle stopped, asked the girl if she was alright, and then drove away without providing any details.
 
The girl received minor injuries as a result of the collision.
 
The driver is described as a man, approximately 25 years-old and is believed to be Canadian based on his accent.
 
The Calgary Police Service would like any witnesses to the collision and the driver of the car to come forward.

The Calgary Police Service continues to investigate suspicious activity in the southeast.
 
On Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, around 8:30 a.m., two teenage girls were walking separately in the community of Auburn Bay when they were approached individually by an unknown man, who asked for directions.
 
Both girls refused to assist the man and reported the incidents when they arrived at school. The principal called police.
 
The man is described as Caucasian, approximately 50 years-old, with short, brown/grey hair. He was wearing a denim jacket and glasses. He was driving an older model white SUV or van with tinted windows.
 
Officers circulated the area with negative results.
 
On Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, around 3:30 p.m., police were called when four children in Cranston noticed a man in a white vehicle who may have been speaking on a cell phone or taking photos. The man did not speak to, or approach, the children.
 
Investigators do not believe this incident is related to the other two.

Sometime overnight between Friday, Jan. 20 and Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, unknown suspect(s) broke into a construction site at the University of Calgary, 731 Campus Pl. N.W. Once inside, offender(s) loaded up a truck full of scrap copper wire/tubing. This copper is very rare and is rarely used anymore.
 
The offender(s) then entered a building located on campus and removed two large rolls of copper wire valued at over $6,000.

On Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at approximately 3:30 a.m., unknown offender(s) broke into Lululemon at 1708 4St. S.W., by smashing a window. Entry was gained into the business, but at this time it is unknown if anything was taken.
 
This location was also targeted in the early morning hours of Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012. In this incident, entry was gained by smashing the front glass door. Once inside, a large quantity of black and grey hoodies were stolen.

Since the beginning of January 2012, there have been numerous reports of break-ins into vehicles in the community of Riverbend.
 
Offenders are targeting vehicles in the early morning hours, specifically those left running in front of residences. In some cases, personal items were removed from the vehicles. In four cases, the vehicles were actually taken by the offender(s), and recovered later by police.
 
Since November 2011, there have also been several reports of offender(s) removing garage openers from vehicles in this community and using the openers to gain access into residences.

On Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at approximately 12 p.m., a Volkswagon Jetta was stolen from the 100 block of Malvern Drive N.E. At approximately 12:40 p.m., the vehicle was found fully engulfed in flames behind a residence in the 200 block of Penmeadows Close S.E. 
 
The Calgary Fire Department attended and extinguished the fire. A backyard fence sustained damage as a result of the fire.

On Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at approximately 4:40 p.m., a man was observed by staff at the Futureshop, 11810 Sarcee Tr. N.W., removing a desktop computer from a shelf and attempting to leave the store without paying.
 
The man was confronted by a staff member who had to physically block the exit. The offender then proceeded to assault the employee by punching him in the face. The offender then dropped the merchandise and fled the store.
 
The suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 25 years-old, 5’8” tall, with a slim build. He was wearing a black toque with a “Burton” logo on the front, a dark-green jacket, with white fur around the hood, a red hoodie and grey jeans.

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect in a robbery that occurred last June.
 
On Monday, June 27, 2011, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a man entered the Esso gas station located at 1 Street and 12 Avenue S.E. He showed a knife to the clerk and demanded money. 
 
The clerk and a customer then got into a fight with the man, during which time they both received minor wounds.
 
 
The suspect is described as Caucasian, 6’ tall, 175 lbs., with brown hair, clean shaven, wearing white surgical mask, blue latex gloves, a grey hoodie with a red logo on the chest, blue jeans and grey sneakers with white soles.

Between Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, and Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, suspect(s) have broken into three affiliated clothing stores in N.W. Calgary by smashing the front glass door. Addition Elle at 11804 Sarcee Tr. N.W., Pennington’s at 3630 Brentwood Rd. N.W. and Thyme Maternity at 11614 Sarcee Tr. N.W., have all been targeted, and in all cases, culprits are removing the same items from all of these businesses. 
 
These incidents are also believed linked to two other cases in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia, between Jan. 1, 2012 and Jan. 6, 2012, where similar type property was also taken.

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in an investigation into shots fired in the northwest.
 
On Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at approximately 10 p.m., a gunshot was fired in the 100 block of Hawksbrow Drive N.W. Fortunately, no one was injured in the shooting and there was only minor damage to a residence. It is not suspected that the house was targeted.
 
Police are turning to the public to ask for their assistance if they observed or heard any suspicious people or vehicles in the area on the date and to help pinpoint the approximate time of the offence.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has released the identity of the victim of a suspicious death that occurred on the weekend.
 
At approximately 9 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, police responded to a report of a possible break-in, in the 100 block of Erin Circle S.E.
 
There were several people in the home at the time. While officers were removing people from the house in order to determine what was going on, they discovered the body of a deceased man.
 
Three people were brought in for questioning and have since been released. The investigation is continuing and at this time no charges have been laid.
 
An autopsy took place today, Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, and confirmed the death is a homicide. The man died as a result of a gunshot wound.
 
The victim has been identified as Joseph Lesley TALBOT, 35, of Calgary.
 
Investigators are working to determine the nature of this incident. It is not random, as the deceased and the persons in the home at the time are believed to be known to one another.

On Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at approximately 11:45 a.m., a man entered the Scotia Bank in the 1900 block of Uxbridge Drive N.W. Once inside the bank the culprit approached the teller, produced a robbery note, and made a verbal demand for cash. He received an undisclosed amount of cash and exited the bank.
 
The offender is described as Caucasian, 30 to 35 years old, approximately 5’11” tall with broad shoulders and a tanned complexion. He had a blond beard and he spoke with an accent. At the time of the offense he was wearing a dark-coloured hat, sunglasses, a grey shirt, a black jacket, blue jeans, and black shoes.

On Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at 7:53 p.m., a woman was walking towards the intersection of Beddington Boulevard and Bermuda Drive N.W., when a man approached from behind and groped her buttocks. The offender then smiled at the victim and ran away. The suspect may have fled the area in a black, four-door Chevrolet Cavalier.
 
The suspect is described as Caucasian, 25 years old, approximately 5’10” tall with a slim build. He was wearing blue cotton construction pants with reflective tape on the ankles, a black coat and a black baseball hat.

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in an assault investigation.  
 
On Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 at approximately 11 p.m., a male had parked his vehicle and was walking towards a business at 1202 14 St. S.W., when he was approached by two to four large Caucasian males. These offenders grabbed the victim and pulled him back into his van and forced the victim to drive to an unknown location downtown. The victim was then tied up and assaulted. The suspect(s) then stole an undisclosed amount of cash and the victim’s vehicle.  
 
The victim was found near 17 Avenue and 4 Street S.W., by a cab driver who drove him home at which time he reported the incident to police.

On Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a male entered the Sobeys Liquor store at 2335 162 Ave. S.W. and approached the cashier. The suspect demanded cash and after receiving an undisclosed amount, he fled the store. Upon exiting the store, the suspect entered a newer silver Dodge Ram truck and fled the area.
 
The suspect is described as Caucasian, 20 t 25 years old, approximately 6’ tall, 180 lbs., and had a medium build. He has blue eyes and was clean shaven. He was wearing black long-sleeved shirt, a sleeveless plaid hoodie, blue jeans, a grey toque, black gloves and a navy blue bandana covering his face.

On Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at 12:50 a.m., two suspects gained access to the Liquor Depot at 20 High St. S.E., by using a stolen white Ford truck to smash into the front window of the business. Once inside, suspects removed a large quantity of liquor and then fled the area leaving the stolen vehicle at the scene. The damage to the business is estimated at over $10,000.

On Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a man entered the Forest Lawn Convenience Store located at 3601 17 Avenue S.E. Once inside, the suspect selected an item from the cooler and approached the counter. He placed the item on the counter, brandished a knife and demanded cash from the till.　The clerk complied and placed an undisclosed amount of cash in a plastic bag.　The suspect then fled the store on foot in a westbound direction.

The suspect is described as Caucasian and 5’10" tall.　He was wearing a black toque, black hoodie, light brown jacket, dark blue jeans and brown boots.

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in locating a British Columbia man who is missing out of Surrey.

Derrick Michael McPherson PEK, 24, was reported missing to Surrey RCMP on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012. His parents told police that PEK hadn’t been seen since Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, and they were concerned about his welfare.

Today, Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, Calgary police received information that PEK may have recently frequented the northeast part of the city. Despite a canvass of the area, PEK was not located.

PEK is Caucasian, 5’9" tall, 165 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

On Dec. 24, 2011 at 11:23 p.m. a man broke into the Shell gas station at 10305 Braeside Dr. S.W. by smashing a window in the garage bay door. Once inside, the suspect used a crowbar to access the store area and then broke into a back storage room. In the storage room, the he removed several cartons of cigarettes, which he placed in a cardboard box, and then fled the area.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 25 to 30 years old, approximately 5’8" tall with a medium build. He has a large nose and was wearing a light-brown jacket with black sleeves, dark coloured pants and a black toque.

The Calgary Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance to identify a man responsible for two recent luring incidents.

During the first incident on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, a 15-year-old girl was walking in the 6800 block of Martindale Gate N.E., around 4 p.m., when she noticed a suspicious vehicle following behind her. The vehicle eventually pulled up in front of her and the driver rolled down the window and asked her to get in. The teen declined and kept walking. The vehicle then pulled in front of her again, with the driver attempting to lure the girl into the vehicle. At this point, the teen ran away from the car and made it home where police were called.

In the second incident, which occurred around 7:15 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, a 31-year-old woman was walking near the intersection of 39 Avenue and 26 Street S.E., when she noticed a vehicle following her.

The vehicle slowed down and the driver yelled out to her several times. The victim ignored the man and continued to cross the intersection. A few moments later, the driver of the vehicle approached the woman on foot, touching her hair and groping her buttocks. The woman was able to break free from the man and run to a nearby mall where she flagged down a police unit that happened to be in the area.

Despite a search of the area, the offender was not located.

Investigators believe the suspect in these two cases is the same. The offender is described as black or Hispanic, 30 to 40 years old, with black wavy or frizzy hair. He was driving a dark green, four-door sedan.

On Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012 at 10:45 p.m., a man heard a noise on the deck of his apartment in the 600 block of 4 Ave. N.E. The victim went to investigate the noise at which time he observed a male suspect running away from the residence. The victim chased the suspect and caught him a short distance away. The suspect then punched the victim and reached into his jacket. As the victim believed that the suspect was about to obtain a weapon, he fled the scene and the offender fled in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as an Aboriginal male, 25 years old, approximately 6’ tall and weighing approximately 190 lbs. He had black curly hair and a wispy moustache. He was wearing a grey windbreaker and was carrying a dark coloured back pack.

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in a robbery investigation.

On Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at 2:45 a.m., a man in his 20s was standing outside the entrance to the ATB Financial located at 1301 16 Ave. N.W., when he was approached by another man. The man punched the victim several times in the face and demanded that he take money from the automated teller machine.

After the victim had withdrawn the cash and given it to the culprit, he was assaulted again. The suspect left the bank and was confronted by a witness before fleeing on foot toward the intersection of 16 Avenue and 10 Street N.W.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital as a precaution.

The suspect is described as Caucasian. He was clean-shaven and had a medium build. He was wearing blue jeans and a three-quarter-length, grey rain jacket with a hood.

The Calgary Police Service is releasing a composite drawing, in order to seek public assistance in locating a robbery suspect.

On Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a man entered the Shoppers Drug Mart in the 2000 block of 33 Avenue S.W.

With a bandana partially covering his face, the man approached the pharmacy counter, stated he had a gun and demanded drugs. He was carrying a long object in a black bag.

He pushed a pharmacy employee toward the safe and took an undisclosed quantity of drugs.

The culprit fled the store, towards a white Ford truck with a logo on the driver’s door. The back of the truck contained building equipment.

As he got into the vehicle, a witness approached him and an altercation took place. The witness managed to remove the bandana.

The suspect was able to drive away. The vehicle was abandoned a few blocks away. It had been reported stolen.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, 25 to 30 years-old, approximately 5’7" to 5’10" tall, weighing approximately 160 lbs. and had a slim build. He was clean shaven and was wearing a white hoodie with an Ecko Unltd. logo on the front, a dark-coloured bandana on his face and blue jeans. He was also wearing a beige glove on one hand and a black glove on the other.

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in a serious assault investigation.

On Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at approximately 3:30 pm., a man was jogging eastbound on the bike path on the south side of Memorial Drive. While in the 1100 block, he was assaulted by a man who was walking westbound.

The victim was hit several times with a branch or stick that was approximately two feet long. He was treated for multiple, non-life threatening injuries at hospital and released.

Investigators believe this to be a random, unprovoked attack.

The suspect is described as Aboriginal, approximately 30 to 40 years old, with a stocky build. He had shoulder-length, black hair and was wearing dark clothing.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) has issued an alert regarding the use of the street drug Ecstasy for the Calgary area.

The health alert was prompted by the recent deaths of two young adults in the Calgary area.

The source and amount of the drug on the street is unknown.

AHS officials say that although toxicology tests have not been concluded for all of the cases, preliminary results indicate that Ecstasy or a combination of toxic substances sold on the street as Ecstasy is likely the cause of three recent Calgary-area deaths.

"People need to be aware of the extreme danger of ingesting this drug," says Dr. Judy MacDonald, Medical Officer of Health, Calgary Zone. "Ecstasy is not only capable of making people very sick, but this drug can kill."

Two of the deaths were in the weeks leading up to the holidays and involved a 18-year-old man and 25-year-old man.

AHS says in addition, over 100 people have been treated for Ecstasy-related health concerns since April 2011.

On Monday, January 2, 2012 at 2:10 p.m. a male suspect entered The Source store located in TD Square at 315 – 8 Ave. S.W. and made arrangements with a store clerk to purchase a computer. At the till, the suspect produced a VISA card to pay for the item, however the store clerk became suspicious of the transaction when the suspect swiped the card through the machine when it clearly had a chip on it. As the store clerk was getting an imprint of the VISA, the suspect fled the store leaving behind the computer and the credit card. The credit card was later determined to be fraudulent.

The suspect is described as an Asian male, approximately 25 years old, 5’ 5" tall, weighing approximately 160 lbs. with a medium build. He had short brown hair styled in a faux hawk and was well dressed.

Once inside the suspect removed a metal cash drawer with a small amount of change in it. While removing the drawer, the suspect caused extensive damage to the countertop. The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to identify a man alleged to have committed a sexual assault.

On Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at approximately 7:30 a.m., a woman was walking through the parking lot of the Fish Creek – Lacombe LRT when she was approached from behind by a man. The suspect pushed her to the ground and grabbed her buttocks. The victim screamed for help and the man ran from the area towards James McKevitt Drive S.W.

The suspect in this case is described as Caucasian, approximately 20 to 25 years-old, 5’10" tall, 200 to 250 lbs., with short, curly brown hair. He was wearing dark jeans, a black and green-striped jacket and running shoes. The man also has distinct piercings, including two on the left side of his upper lip – one stud and one ring.

On Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a man was leaving the Crowfoot LRT platform, in the 1800 block of Scurfield Drive N.W., when four male youths, between the ages of 14 and 17, approached him and demanded his money. When the victim refused, one of the men punched him in the head causing him to fall to the ground. The offenders then ran away.

All four suspects were Caucasian.

Sometime overnight between Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, and Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, unknown offender(s) broke into a home under construction in the 2700 block of 1 Avenue N.W. through a basement window.

The offender(s) disconnected the gas and water lines and turned off the main power before removing all the appliances from the home including a microwave, oven, gas stove, fridge, washer and dryer.

While removing the appliances, approximately $15,000 in damages was caused to the hardwood flooring inside the home.

On Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at approximately 5 p.m., two men entered the Home Outfitters Store at 3333 Sunridge Way N.E. and made their way to the rear shipping area of the store.

While one man kept a look out, the other cut the lock to the loading dock/delivery door. They then removed five Dyson Vacuum cleaners and loaded them into a sandy-brown, pick-up truck.

The first suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 30 to 40 years-old, 6’ tall, with a medium build. He had short, brown hair and was wearing a necklace, a black hooded jacket, a dark-coloured shirt and jeans.

On Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at approximately 2 a.m., a man was seen smashing vehicle windows in the 0-100 block of Taraglen Road N.E. When a witness called out to the suspect, he fled the area on foot.

On Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at approximately 4:15 a.m., a blue, Ford F350 truck was set on fire in the 200 block of 24 Avenue N.E. The vehicle was later discovered to have been stolen and had sustained substantial damage as a result of the fire.

On Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at 3:30 p.m., a man entered a basement suite of a residence in the 2700 block of 14 Ave. S.E., by kicking in a window. Once inside, the suspect rummaged through the contents of the suite but did not take anything.

The suspect then entered the upstairs suite by kicking in the back door and went into the living room where he grabbed a laptop computer. He noticed one of the occupants of the suite hiding in the corner. He approached the homeowner and assaulted her before attempting to leave the residence. Two other occupants of the suite confronted the suspect and a struggle ensued however the suspect was able to free himself and fled from the residence down the back alley.

The suspect is described as approximately 5’10" tall with buzz-cut, black hair. He was wearing a grey T-shirt and dark-coloured jeans.

The Calgary Police Service continues to seek public assistance in regards to a serious assault that occurred in October of this year.

On Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at approximately 2 a.m., a fight broke out between two groups of men outside an establishment in the 600 block of 11 Avenue S.W. During the fight, a man who tried to intervene was stabbed. He was transported to hospital.

On Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at approximately 1 a.m., a man was assaulted after leaving a Christmas party in the downtown core. The victim was walking in the 100 block of 8 Avenue S.E., when he was struck by an unknown offender(s) and knocked to the ground.

On Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a woman entered the BMO (Bank of Montreal) in the 8200 block of Centre Street N. Once inside, she approached a teller and indicated she was armed with a weapon, and that it was a robbery.

The woman was provided with an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the bank.

She is described as Caucasian, approximately 30 to 40 years old, 5’7” tall, weighing approximately 140 lbs. She had black hair with blue tips and was wearing a dark hat, a faded black jacket, tight black pants, and a scarf around her neck. She was also carrying a blue satchel/purse.

Sometime overnight between Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, and Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, unknown offender(s) broke into a locked compound in the 6000 block of 94 Avenue S.E., by cutting the chain on the gate.

While the victim was attempting to grab a cigarette from his pack, he was pushed to the ground by the offender, who then grabbed the victim’s laptop bag and fled on foot.

On Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at approximately 4:45 p.m., an elderly woman took out money from an ATM in the 2900 block of 26 Avenue S.W. While walking southbound on 28 Street S.W., she was approached by a vehicle driven by a man, with a female passenger. The man asked the victim for directions, and while she gave him directions, the female passenger reached out the window of the vehicle and grabbed the victim’s purse. The offenders then fled the area.

The vehicle is white in color, possibly an SUV.

The first suspect is described as a Caucasian man, approximately 18 to 25 years old, with a medium build and short brown hair.

The second suspect is described as a Caucasian woman, approximately 18 to 25 years old, with a slim build. She had shoulder-length, blond hair.

Damages are estimated at approximately $5,000.

On Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at approximately 1 a.m., the victim was standing outside a restaurant in the 3400 block of 17 Avenue S.E., when an unknown man came outside from the restaurant and vomited on the sidewalk, splashing onto the victims pants. The man then went into a car. After a few minutes, the man then exited his car and approached the victim. Three other men joined the suspect and they began to physically assault the victim. The men then fled the scene.

All four men are believed to be of Filipino descent.

The first suspect is believed to be approximately 30 to 35 years old. He had a goatee and was wearing a white T-shirt.

The second suspect was wearing a green hoodie.

The third suspect was wearing a black hoodie.

The fourth suspect was wearing a white, long-sleeved shirt.

The Calgary Police Service is requesting public assistance to help locate a missing woman.

Lin ZHANG, 29, an international student from China, was reported missing on Monday Nov. 7, 2011.

ZHANG has not had contact with her family in the United States and overseas since early November.

Prior to being reported missing, it is believed she was in Calgary. ZHANG also has ties to Lethbridge, where she attended school.

While police do not know the circumstances around her disappearance, they are seeking assistance from anyone who may know her whereabouts.

ZHANG is described as Asian, 5’3" tall, 150 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in identifying two men responsible for several pin pad swaps at various businesses in the Calgary area.

After each pin pad was swapped and altered, it was later re-swapped back into place at the business it was taken from. The offenders then used the credit card data from the pin pads to commit a large number of fraudulent transactions.

The first suspect is believed to be Asian, approximately 5’6" tall. He was wearing a black ball cap, a brown winter jacket, a black sweater, dark-coloured jeans and black shoes.

The second suspect is Caucasian, approximately 6’1" tall, with a slim build. He was wearing a black, "Nike" ball cap, a grey winter jacket, a grey hoodie, blue jeans and athletic style shoes.

On Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at approximately 7:40 p.m, a man robbed the Brentwood Co-op at 4122 Brentwood Rd. N.W. He approached the counter, pulled out a weapon and threatened an employee. He then demanded money and was provided with an undisclosed amount before fleeing the area on foot.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 20 to 30 years-old, 5’10" tall, weighing approximately 140 lbs., with a slim build. He was clean shaven and had a pale complexion. He was wearing a grey hoodie, a red scarf, black pants, brown shoes.

Police also believe that this same offender may be responsible for a similar robbery in late June 2011 at an Esso Station in the 100 block of 12 Avenue S.W.

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in identifying a man believed to be responsible for setting a fire.

In the late evening hours of Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, a man gained access to a residential yard in the 200 block of 10A Street N.W.

After attempting to enter the detached garage and the house, the man worked diligently trying to initiate a fire against the side of the residence. He spent a significant period of time walking back and forth from the yard to the alley in an effort to build the fire. Once the fire was lit, the man used fuel from a jerry can to support the fire.

He then fled the area on foot.

While there was minimal damage from the fire, it had the potential to be much more serious. Investigators believe this was a targeted attack.

Once inside, the suspect proceeded behind the counter, brandished a knife and demanded cash from the till. He then removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the till and fled the scene.

The suspect is described as Aboriginal, approximately 30 to 40 years-old, 5’7" tall, with a medium build. He had black hair in a ponytail and was wearing a black baseball cap with an "ACDC" logo, a black, three-quarter length, winter jacket, black gloves, black pants and white runners.

On Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a man was canvasing in the neighborhood of Springbank on the pretense of soliciting money for the Salvation Army Santa Shuffle. The suspect appeared to be legitimate and stated that he lived in the area. The victim donated money to this man for the charity.

On Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, the victim was at a friend’s place in community of Discovery Ridge, when the same suspect attempted to solicit money for the same charity. He provided the same background story however he stated that he now lived in the Discovery Ridge area. The victim confronted the suspect about his story and demanded that he provide his name, to which he complied. The victim checked with the charity and confirmed that they had no one by the suspect’s name canvasing for them.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 5’8" tall, with a medium build. He had a mole on his right cheek and was wearing a dark winter jacket, jeans and a dark colored toque.
